The time has come…

“The time has come…the time is now” (Dr. Seuss)! We have finally been pushed, kicking and screaming, into the world of Bloggers. We have so very much to learn about this land, so bear with us as our goal is to bring you the most up-to-date Aileen (and occasionally Luke and Keri) doings and pictures.

Yesterday (Wed Apr 9th) was our last intro to ballet/jazz/tap/cheerleading class, the 16th is our final performance and party. Aileen has been a trooper! The first class she was amused and participated in pretty much everything. By the 2nd class she knew this wasn’t necessarily her bag, but she liked the teacher and enjoyed watching the other girls. She always wants to go to class but once there is interested only in visiting with the teacher and getting a sticker at the end of class…a bit reminiscent of a not-so-athletically inclined 5yr old who once was removed from a t-ball team but still got a trophy at season’s end for always coming to the games and entertaining those watching the outfield for signs of heavenly beings (aka: dirt angels).

As of last Fri (Apr 4th) we began the potty training journey. I had been scared to embark on this adventure and held fast to the idea that we would begin after I finished a book on it…you can almost imagine how exciting a non-fiction novel about potty training would be so the reading was slow in coming. Fri I decided enough was enough and we went to the store (as we were out of diapers) and bought Ariel under-garments instead of diapers. Aileen, as usual, has approached this challenge with patience and persistence…her dad and I are taking notes! She is well on her way and amazing us more everyday.

Going to see if I can figure out how to get pictures on here.

  1. Wow! I’m so impressed – what a great venture into the world of technological connection. I’ll be eagerly watching your experience and maybe eventually you guys can teach me to blog, too. Looking forward to seeing more pictures and entries!!

  2. I remember before we moved she had started the “BM BM” and seemed to understand, so I’m wishing all three of you the best of luck with this subject. I don’t know much about blogs and have no desire to learn on my end, school is enough for me right now, but I will check your site out for updates and if Krissy and Eric do one, I’d check up on them as well. As for the Blackburns, Cody isn’t very photogenic and doesn’t do many tricks; Russ is out and I’m in school studying phlebotomy. School is fun and very HARD! But it will be worth it once I’ve done it. Take care. We love and miss everyone!

  3. Look forward to your blog and photos. Don’t know that I would have the patience to figure it out.

  4. I am with the crowd in cheering you on. Now that I am a free Namom(retired-sort-of)I have thought about starting one myself. Now I know where to get help once I get started. Look forward to keeping up with the 3 Potters via your blog.

I hear you about not being to excited about reading a book re potty-training! I go to my book club tonight and might suggest your book for our group. We are reading “The Other Boleyn Girl” now but I bet they might be ready for something less romantic!!
